Designed to accommodate up to a 40” tire, the TeraFlex JL: Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount (NOT INCLUDED) will secure your full-size spare tire over the most extreme trails and rugged terrain. It also provides easy access to the rear cargo area in one smooth action. Using the factory tailgate hinge mounting points spreads the load of the spare tire over a larger area for maximum strength and durability. Internal gussets and bracing in the stock JL body supports the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier and oversized tire, which eliminates all stress from the tailgate. Compared to the JK piece, the new JL: Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier spans nearly the width of the tailgate for better weight distribution. Additionally, the updated design features a one-piece, forged steel hinge that ties the top and bottom factory hinge locations together as well as additional vertical braces for increased strength. The Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier also provides additional mounting points for off-road accessories such as a recovery jack and fluid containers. The adjustable Tire Carrier is constructed from strong and lightweight 6061-T6 extruded aluminum. Although the Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount can be used alone, it has been designed to be installed in conjunction with the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier. The Tire Mount can support the additional weight of a full-size spare tire by securely mounting the tire to the Tire Carrier and tailgate.

• The factory tailgate can only support the weight of up to a 35” spare tire and wheel combo w/out reinforcement.

• Although the Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount Kit (5×5”: # 4838910) (8×6.5”: # 4838940) will bolt to the factory tailgate, the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier Kit (# 4838900) DOES NOT work with the OEM spare tire mount.

• REQUIRES Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier Kit and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount Kit to support up to a 40” spare tire and wheel combo. • A spare tire larger than 40” will interfere with the stock rear bumper.

• Tire size fitment and aftermarket bumper clearance varies by manufacturers; please confirm fitment before purchase.

• JL Wrangler Unlimited 4xe plug-in hybrid models REQUIRE Alpha Speaker Bracket Kit (# 4838290) to retain the rear speaker in the factory Pedestrian Warning System.

• REQUIRES Alpha HD 8-Lug Spare Tire Mount Adapter Kit (# 4838930) to convert from 5×5” to 8×6.5” for 8-lug wheels.
